After a house fire, my wife made the trip to Georgia - the only place we could find the tile we needed for our kitchen rebuild, along with a range to go with it. She was on her own, loading up our truck, and struggling with a tarp when LD Sims noticed her.
He didn't have to stop. He didn't have to help. But he did - without hesitation - because that's just who he is. He got her squared away and on her way home.
That kind of character is rare. It has nothing to do with business and everything to do with how a person chooses to show up for a stranger on an ordinary Tuesday. My wife wasn't a customer in that moment. She was just someone who needed a hand - and LD gave it.
